Nett Academy Newsletter, June 21st

Hey friends,

Nett Academy is launching soon! More about this and other topics in this week's issue.

This week, I want to help you focus your AI-200 preparation. There are also useful updates on Foundry agent controls and more.

This Week's Focus

Microsoft AI-200 Study Cram

If you missed my Microsoft AI-200 Study Cram, it brings the exam domains together in about 78 minutes, including live labs for Azure Container Registry, Container Apps and AKS.

Three priorities for your study plan:

1. Start with the current objectives. AI-200 succeeds AZ-204, but it changed significantly. Python, containers and vector databases feature prominently. App Service is still there too, specifically for deploying containers. Compare your existing material with the official study guide.

2. Give the data domain enough time. It carries the largest weighting at 25–30%. Cosmos DB for NoSQL, PostgreSQL and Azure Managed Redis all have vector-related objectives.

3. Practise connecting the pieces. Build a small application, add messaging, handle secrets and inspect its logs. That gives you a concrete reason to use each service and makes the relationships easier to remember.

Security

One Foundry updates published on 18 September is worth a look if you manage AI agents.

Outbound connection controls for hosted agents are in public preview. Rules can match destination hostnames, including wildcards. Audit mode records what would be denied; enforce mode blocks denied traffic inside the hosted-agent sandbox. This is for evaluation and has no production SLA. Read the announcement.

AI

Meta's Muse moves from answering questions to carrying out tasks. In its 8 September announcement, Meta describes an agent that works across applications, including email and travel bookings. Meta says Muse asks for approval before actions such as sending an email or making a purchase. The announced rollout starts in the US. Read Meta's announcement.

The first benchmarks look promising indeed, although it still seems to be behind claude code, codex or grok for most agentic tasks.

Nett Academy

And lastly, I'm incredibly excited to announce that Nett Academy is coming very soon. I worked on this for several months, and I'm pretty excited that will be ready soon.

When the full Academy releases, it starts with two new premium courses:

  • Microsoft Sentinel
  • Microsoft Foundry

Enrollment is not open yet; I will share the launch details here when it is ready.

Also, the free Nett Academy Discord is open. This is a place to join for peer learning and practical discussion across security, cloud and AI. You do not need to buy a course to take part. Join the community.
